Here the start is with the baldie "show girls".
This is a cake for the young man who celebrated his 18th birthday with the joint party and the topsy turvy and parcel cakes.
It was a complete silliness that I thoroughly enjoyed constructing with ideas from such authors as Debbie Brown and Lindy Smith.
Each tier is a madeira mix in different flavours, coated with butter cream and decorated with the fondant icing.
Each little lady was pre modelled and left to dry before attaching...the can-can girls with royal icing and the show girls I worked around dowels so that I could simply insert them into the cake top.
I hope it makes you smile!!!!
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!! Ah! the coffee break(s) that never get drunk cos there's no time!!! And there's a hubby to pander to also, who is always hungry etc!! The cakes were made in advance and slammed in the freezer...I started with the can-can and show girls, constructing the main cake tiers the day after and the final touches the next day that was the day before the party, and at the same time, I was doing the topsy turvy cake that I have posted..the main two days I was tidying up at midnight!!! When you are really "into" doing, time has no real meaning don't you think????
